YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TO MANY TIPS ON BREEDING CATTLE

Breeding cattle is by no means the east thing to do. You have so much you have to think about before you start the process. I believe that AI should be able to be used when breeding.

This man believes AI shouldn't be used for many reasons. AI requires more time, labor, skill, conception rates can be lower and more expensive. As for natural breeding this is more traditional and aligns with how cattle reproduce. Maintain a breeding bull is more practical for ranchers and natural breeding can have less stress on the cattle. Not everyone will agree with what is said in this video and that is fine. You will come to your own judgement as what will work best for you when you decide to breed your cattle.

You mean to tell me the climate can actually be helpful when breeding?

Having calves born in a certain climate really does effect the calf being born and feeling more comfortable. its not just for the calf its for the mother as well.

Heat stress is a major issue when breeding cattle bulls produce lower semen , and heifers are more less likely to have to show clear signs of heat. Knowing when to breed your cattle to have it fall in cooler weather is helpful to have the calves thrive. You knowing more and more about breeding is going to help you in every aspect.

Threre isnt a wrong or right answer to this. It all depends on when you feel more comfortable in calving.

When determining what season to breed in, you will take all the factors into consideration. late winter/early spring you get the colder months they wont have as much access to fodder. in the late spring/early summer they grass is greener and that gives them more fodder. in late summer/early autumn the farmer will spend more money on protein and supplements for the cattle to be healthy

UNDERSTANDING THE REPRODUCTIVE CYCLE IN ANIMALS

Sexual maturity matters more than puberty for breeding. Most animals shouldn't breed until they are 60%-75% of their mature body weight.

Weight management is a direct tool for reproductive readiness. The "feritlity" window or "heat" is what it generally called is when they are ready for mating or AI. There are four steps in their cycle..Proestrus, Estrus (oestrus), Metestrus, Diestrus. The length of the pregnancy varies in animals.
